- The Relocation/Referral Department will draft and send the referral agreement, typically a 25% referral fee.
- The Relocation/Referral Department will request updates from the assigned agent every 14 days and follow-up until the referral closes.
- Upon the close of escrow, you will receive your referral commission.

Other types of referrals
:
Referrals that you (agent) have contacted another agent in your client’s desired area.
Outgoing Referral
– BHHS Drysdale Properties agent refers a client to another agent. Our agent is referred to as a referring agent/broker.
o When referring a client, agents will have the CAR or equivalent Referral Fee Agreement signed by office manager.
Incoming Referral
– BHHS Drysdale Properties agent receives referral from another agent. Our agent is referred to as a recipient agent/broker.
o When we receive a referral from another agent the office manager needs to sign the CAR or equivalent Referral Fee Agreement
o Give the agent back the Referral Fee Agreement and let the agent know they will need to get the W9 from the other brokerage (NOT the agent’s W9). We suggest requesting this upfront as it can delay the agent’s commission.
o Both W9 & Referral Fee Agreement must be uploaded to the checklist in SkySlope
For referrals that are not placed with Relocation, the agent needs to complete the CAR (or equivalent) Referral Fee Agreement and have the Business Consultant for their office sign. The Business Consultant and AC need to keep a copy of referral agreement and check the status of the referral with the agent every 14 days. Once the client goes into escrow the property should be entered into SkySlope. Refer to “How to handle a referral once the check arrives” for how to input into SkySlope.
How to handle a referral once the check arrives:
- All referral checks are to be payable to BHHS Drysdale Properties and should be sent to the home office.
- If the AC receives the check in the agent’s office, check SkySlope for a file, if there is not a file created you need to create one. You may need to request the closing statement from agent for all the info you will need. If you do not receive the closing statement put Unknown for all info you do not know.
- In SkySlope choose Incoming Referral Fee for the Checklist and Other (or Referral) for the type of transaction. MLS # 0, Year Built can be googled.
- Escrow # should be “Incoming Referral Fee.”
- If buyer or seller is not known put Unknown
- Agent representing other side is the agent the client was referred to.
- Commission amount is the full amount of the check – Do Not put a percentage.
- Upload referral fee agreement, copy of the referral check & closing statement (if you received) to SkySlope.
- Complete loose check jotform at https://app.jotform.com/222766008207150/220336540147145
- Closings will close the file in SkySlope – AC does not close
- Mail the check with loose check form to the Home Office, Attention: Accounting
588 San Ramon Valley Blvd #250, Danville, CA 94526
- Accounting will issue check and mail back to agent’s home address on file
- Accounting will note when the check is processed and mailed in the SkySlope File.
Archive the file 24 hours after it is closed.
