Types of Referrals

Types of Referrals

There are 2 different types of referrals in Real Estate.  

Outgoing Referrals
BHHS Drysdale Properties agent refers a client to another agent.  Our agent is referred to as a referring agent/broker.
   
  1. When referring a client, agents will have the CAR or equivalent Referral Fee Agreement signed by office manager.

Incoming Referrals
BHHS Drysdale Properties agent receives referral from another agent.  Our agent is referred to as a recipient agent/broker 
 
  1. When we receive a referral from another agent the office manger needs to sign the CAR or equivalent Referral Fee Agreement
  2. Give the agent back the Referral Fee Agreement and let the agent know they will need to get the W9 from the other brokerage (NOT the agent’s W9).  We suggest requesting this upfront as it can delay the agents commission.
  3. Agent will upload both W9 & Referral Fee Agreement to the checklist in SkySlope
    1. W9 is uploaded to the W9 for Referral in the checklist
    2. Referral Fee Agreement is uploaded under Referral Agreement in the checklist
